Leadership

Strong and resilient leadership is at the core of all successful non-profit endeavors. Joining with staff and Board leadership, our team builds competencies in organizational development, governance, Board training, managing crises, and building a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Executive coaching

Leadership development requires training, coaching, nurturing, and mentoring to result in greater emotional intelligence, impactful and influential communications, enhanced strategic thinking, and effective prioritization and delegation. Our executive coaching will augment your leadership capacity, facilitating a higher level of performance and productivity.

Board development and retreats

We have found that Board members are generally recruited to meet a specific need, including their capacity to contribute, expertise in a specific area, connections to stakeholders, or voice in the community. Many of these individuals lack the experience of sitting on a non-profit Board and have not been adequately prepared to govern. We can bring your organization years of experience in training and building effective Boards that includes facilitating meetings and retreats that build consensus, unite members, create an esprit de corps, and bind Board members to your mission.

Committee assessments

Non-profit committees are essential to tapping into the unique qualifications of Board members, give guidance, and supplement staff endeavors. Many non-profits create an excessive number of Board committees – ad hoc and permanent – that overextend Board members and run the risk of taking them from their role in governance to operations. We can assist you with assessing the charter of each committee, evaluating their composition, and determining their value to your organization.

Staff and Board succession planning

Leadership transitions can leave organizations vulnerable to externally posed risks, such as a loss of external funding because a donor is waiting to make a major gift until the new leadership is seated, or the loss of institutional knowledge when a long-tenured leader leaves with information about key relationships or other historical information. We can help you weather the challenge of leadership transitions by providing direction in planning for smooth and thoughtful shifts in management and Board governance, as well as help prepare for unexpected departures.

Change management

The one constant in business is change. The greatest challenge is managing the change with vital leadership, tools, skills, and systems that enable you to capitalize on the change. Our consultants are available to diagnose the effects of change on your organization and educate and train leadership to manage the process, limit the risk, and maximize the value of change that accrues to you and your staff.

Diversity and inclusion training

A culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion makes organizations stronger because of the range of skills and talents among an eclectic group of individuals. We have the expertise to assist your non-profit in establishing a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as guidance on how to model these values as a central element of your mission.
